What is gematria code

Gematria is an ancient coding system used in various spiritual and mystical traditions, including the Kabbalah and other Western esoteric practices. The code was originally developed in the Middle East and is based on the numerical equivalent of the letters in Hebrew. Gematria has been used to interpret Hebrew words and phrases, sacred texts, and names.

Gematria is a form of numerical coding that assigns numerical values to letters, words and phrases. By assigning a numerical value to each letter, it becomes possible to compare two sets of words or ideas on a deeper level than simple letter comparisons. For example, when two words have similar gematria codes, they may signify a specific relationship between them.

By assigning numbers to letters, it can be easier to understand certain religious texts because they could be explained in terms of numbers rather than words or phrases. Numbers may hold hidden meanings that could not be seen at first glance in conventional language systems. Additionally, famous names or passages could contain hidden meanings using this form of code that are revealed only when looking for similarities between them based on their Gematria codes.

One interesting use of Gematria is as a predictive tool for divination and prophecy. By taking root words from various sources such as biblical passages or holy books, one may be able to decode prophecy or insight from their numerical equivalents. For example, some practitioners of Kabbalah use Gematria to try and identify important events which will manifest through meaningful names associated with those events that can then be decoded through the numerical values assigned by Gematria systems.

While it is unclear just how far back the practice dates, there are centuries old manuscripts written entirely with numbers corresponding with selected letters based on Adamic gematria codification system which purportedly date back thousands of years ago before being adopted into mysticism traditions like Kabbalah. Today there are multiple forms of gematrial code including Justinianus and Atbash Transposition Cipher amongst others which are still used by those embracing esoteric symbolism today.
